“The varsity roster is full of great student athletes who are underclassmen and are far exceeding our expectations, therefore the future looks very bright.”
What it takes to be the team? “As with any sport, all student athletes must balance school work with practice and competition. Wrestlers have an additional burden of maintaining weight. Wrestling is a very humbling sport where mentally each young man must be able to face competition by himself without teammates to bail him out if he underperforms.”
What you hope for in the future for the team? “I hope that we can continue the tradition of maintaining a top ten team GPA ranking each year, qualify for the states both at the team and individual level and graduate young men who have learned valuable life’s lessons and characteristics that will carry them into the next chapter of their lives.”
Coach Ancil was a three-time letter winner, three-time conference medial winner, two-time captain, two-time district medial winner, one-time district champion, and his school's first state qualifier.
