Coach Ancil grew up in Kettering, Ohio where he began wrestling in seventh grade. He attended Fairmont East where he wrestled varsity all three years. Coach Ancil was a three-time letter winner, three-time conference medial winner, two-time captain, two-time district medial winner, one-time district champion, and his school's first state qualifier. In 2005, he began to volunteer as a wrestling coach at LRHS. While he was volunteering for LRHS, coach Ancil also competed in the Veterans National Wrestling Championships. In 2006, he was promoted to assistant wrestling coach at LRHS and began to help coach freshman football. In 2007 he was promoted to head wrestling coach at LRHS where he is beginning his 15th year with the program. While he has been at LRHS he has also still competed in the Veterans National Wrestling Championships winning a gold medal in 2005 and 2006, a silver medal in 2007 and a world bronze in 2012 in Budapest, Hungary.
